Moonlight Hike and Camp in Wadi Shah

One of the amazing hike I did in the past few months. We hiked all the way up about 3.85 kilometers with an elevation gain of 886m. The team met up in Umm al Quwain which is an hour and a half from Dubai. From there we start driving to Jebel Jais which is our start point. The hike starts at 21:30  and reached the summit at around midnight. The climb was a bit hard as we only have the moon and our headlamps as our light. Some trails are so narrow and steep and some require a lot of strength and courage to keep going. Though it was dark and we can’t see the scenery clearly. That doesn’t stop me from appreciating the view. The moon was amazing, the silence was deafening. We reached the summit around 23:30. Set up our tent. Yup, I can set up a tent without your assistance. I went masters on that. Just Kidding! I am used to set up a tent since I was 9.

Then came the morning and it also means that we need to prepare to get down. Me and Sarah a very good friend of mine and my tent mate had a very good sleep. Our tent was so cozy inside that we wanted to just stay inside for the breakfast. Actually, it was just so cold that we wanted to be inside our sleeping bag. Going down was not that hard as I expected. It was an easy trail mostly on track but with a few good inclines.
